The well-known bike part manufacturer will jump into the electric bicycle business next year.
This drive train has been announced already in 2011, but the serial production will start only next year.
What should we know about the SRAM E2 electric support drive? The engine was built into the rear wheel together with the controlling electronic and the torque sensor. The biggest benefit of the drive is the built in two-speed automatic gear system. As the most important design criteria was the easy handling, the system doesn’t have any display; so you have to link only one wire to the battery, and your support drive is ready to go. The OEMs can build single speed bikes with this solution.
